About Us
Photomarathon UK Limited is a registered not-for-profit company, limited by guarantee. The company was formally established in March 2006 with the sole intention of developing the Photomarathon concept in the UK. The event is run by a team of dedicated volunteers who give freely of their time to help make the event happen.
The event also relies on a number of additional volunteers – friends and entrants – to help run the day and man the exhibition. Our thanks go out to them all.
THE TEAM
Betina Skovbro
Betina is a freelance photographer, based in Cardiff. She has worked in South Wales for the past 9 years as a press and portrait photographer. She is responsible for introducing Photomarathon UK to Cardiff in 2004, having taken part in a similar event in her native Copenhagen.
Mathew Talfan
Mathew is Head of Communications at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama and was formerly managing director at Cardiff based creative agency 6721.
Caroline Taylor
Caroline Taylor is a ceramicist working in Cardiff and a member of Fireworks Clay Studios. She is also a Technical Demonstrator at Cardiff School of Art and Design, UWIC.
Simon Murray
Simon Murray is Communtiy Development Officer for Communities First in Ely and Caerau, Cardiff.
Carolyn Pugsley
Carolyn is a Director of Freshwater, a full service PR, marketing, digital and public affairs agency headquartered in Cardiff.
Ruth Greenwood
Ruth Greewood is Press Officer at Welsh National Opera.
Benjamin Fox
Ben is a senior developer at a London agency, and our web man. He does the tech things for us. We don’t understand how it works, he does. This helps.
